Effective [date site goes live]  ·  Last updated [same]

This policy explains what information is collected when you visit schaafinc.com, why it's collected, and what you can do about it. Schaaf Inc. is a small manufacturers' representative firm. We don't sell personal information and we don't want more of it than we need to run the website and answer your questions.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly

This website has no contact form, no account sign-up and no online ordering. If you call, text or email us, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your name, company, phone number, email address and the details of your inquiry. We keep that correspondence so we can quote your work and follow up on it, the same way we would with a phone call or a mailed purchase order.

Information collected automatically

When you load a page, our hosting provider records standard web server information: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page you requested, the page that referred you, and the date and time. This happens on essentially every website and is used for delivering pages, security and troubleshooting.

If you consent to analytics cookies, we also collect information about how the site is used — which pages are viewed, how long visits last, roughly where in the world visitors are, and whether they arrived from a search engine, a link or a direct visit. This is reported to us in aggregate. We do not use it to identify individual people.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect payment information through this website.
  • We do not ask for or store Social Security numbers, government ID numbers or financial account numbers.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
  • We do not buy personal information from data brokers or list vendors.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. We use a consent tool that asks your preference before any non-essential cookie is set, and remembers that choice. You can change it at any time using the cookie icon in the corner of the page or the link in the footer.

Cookie categories used on this site
CategoryWhat it doesSet without consent?
Essential Remembers your cookie preferences so you aren't asked on every page. The site cannot function properly without it. Yes
Analytics Google Analytics 4. Tells us which pages and materials people actually look at, so we know what's worth expanding. No
Advertising Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags. Not currently in use. If we begin advertising, these will only be set with your consent. No

Advertising is not active today. We list the advertising category because we expect to run Google Ads in the future, and we would rather describe it now than change this policy quietly later. Until then, declining advertising cookies changes nothing, because none are being set.

We use Google Consent Mode, which means Google's tags respect your choice before storing anything. If you decline, Google's tags either don't load or operate without cookies.

Third parties

We use a small number of outside services to run this site. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

Services that may receive data when you visit
ServicePurposeWhat it receives
NetlifyWebsite hosting and deliveryStandard server log data, including IP address
Google AnalyticsWebsite usage statisticsUsage data and cookie identifiers, only with your consent
Google AdsAdvertising measurement (future)Nothing today; only with consent if we begin advertising
Google FontsTypefaces used on the pageIP address, to deliver the font files
jsDelivrDelivers the cookie consent toolIP address, to deliver the file

Our email is handled by Microsoft 365 with Proofpoint Essentials filtering, so correspondence you send us is processed by those providers as part of normal mail delivery.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How long we keep things

Analytics data is retained according to the setting in our Google Analytics account, currently [14 months — confirm once GA4 is configured], after which it is deleted automatically. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting. Business correspondence — quotes, orders and the emails around them — is kept as long as needed for the customer relationship and for tax and recordkeeping purposes.

Your choices

  • Cookies. Change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie icon or the footer link. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
  • Analytics opt-out. Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, our consent tool treats it as a request to decline non-essential cookies.
  • Email. We do not run a marketing email list. If that changes, every message will include an unsubscribe link.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us not to sell or share it. We honor these requests regardless of whether a particular law applies to a business our size. Email donny@schaafinc.com and we will respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and the site is encrypted. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep the site simple deliberately: there is no database, no login and no stored customer data on the web server itself.

Children

This is a business-to-business industrial supply website and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Where your information is handled

Schaaf Inc. is based in the United States and the information described here is processed in the United States. If you are visiting from outside the U.S., be aware that your information will be handled here, under U.S. law.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information — for example, when we begin running advertising or if we add a contact form — we will update this page and change the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.
